Pulse Live Kenya × Spartan Photography Kenya

Brand, Culture & Visual Storytelling Collaboration (2022–2025)

Between 2022 and 2025, Spartan Photography Kenya collaborated with Pulse Live Kenya, one of the region’s leading digital media platforms, on multiple projects that intersected culture, brand storytelling, and visual media.

2022 – Nike Market Documentation Project

In 2022, Spartan Photography Kenya worked with Pulse Live Kenya, Nike, and several Kenyan celebrities on a multi-week visual project focused on exploring the presence and quality of Nike products in the Kenyan market.

The project required documentation across real market environments, capturing both the authenticity of the retail ecosystem and the cultural significance of global brands within Kenyan street and youth culture.

Through photography and visual storytelling, the project highlighted:

  • Consumer awareness around brand authenticity
  • The interaction between global brands and local markets
  • The cultural influence of sportswear and streetwear in Kenya

The work combined documentary-style imagery with editorial storytelling to create visuals that resonated with Pulse’s digital audience.

2023 – Official Photographer, Pulse Influencer Awards

In 2023, Spartan Photography Kenya was appointed as the Official Photographer for the Pulse Influencer Awards, one of Kenya’s most recognized digital culture and creator events.

The assignment required capturing:

  • Red carpet moments
  • Influencer interactions
  • Stage highlights and award announcements
  • Behind-the-scenes moments

The role demanded speed, precision, and storytelling awareness to document the atmosphere of an event that brings together creators, artists, and digital personalities shaping contemporary Kenyan culture.

The resulting images helped preserve the visual narrative of the awards while amplifying the event’s digital presence.

2025 – Visual Artist of the Year Nomination

In 2025, Spartan Photography Kenya’s continued work in visual storytelling and digital media culture was recognized through a nomination for the Pulse Influencer Awards – Visual Artist of the Year category.

This nomination reflected the growing recognition of Spartan Photography Kenya’s contribution to visual storytelling within Kenya’s digital and creative ecosystem.

Through photography and videography, Spartan Photography Kenya documented the story of Victor Kubasi, a young man from Kibera who earned a scholarship through the Sydney International Equity Scholarship at the University of Sydney.

Victor’s journey reflects both the struggles and the resilience of boys growing up in underserved communities. His story is not only about academic success, but about determination, support systems, and the power of opportunity.

The visual documentation took place in Kibera — the community where Victor was raised — capturing the environment that shaped his life and the path that led him to this milestone.

By sharing Victor’s story, the project aimed to highlight an often-overlooked conversation: the importance of empowering and supporting the boy child, particularly in communities where opportunities remain limited.

Through this work, Spartan Photography Kenya sought to connect audiences around the world with a story of perseverance, hope, and the transformative power of education.
